Memphis boasts a well-earned reputation for its dry barbecue dishes. Hungry Gene's Memphis Style BBQ Dry Rub offers a burst of flavor. It's crafted from an authentic Memphis recipe, perfect for enhancing the flavor of ribs. A classic Memphis BBQ hallmark involves slow-cooking the ribs until they reach mouthwatering tenderness, nearly falling off the bone. You can also use this rub with beef or chicken.

Hungry Gene recommends applying 1 tablespoon of Memphis Style BBQ Dry Rub per pound of meat. When working with ribs, remember to remove the membrane and coat both sides evenly with the seasoning, gently massaging it in with your hands. At this point, you have the option to either wrap the ribs in foil or place them in large resealable plastic bags, then refrigerate for a minimum of 8 hours before introducing them to the smoker. For optimal results, allow the ribs to marinate for a full 24 hours in the fridge before cooking.

Some cooks prefer to add extra rub during the last 15 minutes of cooking. Others opt for a wet rub, moistening their ribs with a vinegar and water mixture before applying the rub. If you haven't tried these techniques before, feel free to experiment with both to determine which suits your taste best.
